I am searching for information about the family of Elias WALTER and wife Margaret. They
appear on the Wabash County 1860 census with the following children: David age 7, Mary J.
age 5, and Martha C. age 2. I have not found them on the 1870 census.
My husband is a descendant of Amos and Susannah POWELL WALTER. They resided in Wabash
County in 1860's. Amos died in 1866 and Elias was the administrator of his estate. I feel
that they were related. I can give information about Amos WALTER. I would like to have
proof on the connection between these two men. I would appreciate any information
that can be offered.

GALLAGHER, James Barr, 1871-1936, m. Lillian VANDAVEER in Greenwood Co., KS in 1894. He
was living in Mt. Carmel, IL at the time, and they returned there after the wedding. The
newspaper account says that he was interested in purchasing The Pilot in Mt. Carmel, or
the Springerton Herald. Their first child, Mildred, was born in 1895 in Dickinson Co., KS,
so they probably were in Mt. Carmel a short time. Anyone with info about the newspaper,
The Pilot, or the GALLAGHER family will appreciate the help.
