I am looking for information on Mary Viola GABBERT (1907 - 1977) and Orvil Erwin LAMB (born c. 1899 in Petersburg, Pike Co., IN), who are my husband's grandparents. Mary is the daughter of George William GABBERT (1863 - 1939) and Sarah Margaret SEALS (1867 - 1922). Mary was born January 15, 1907 in Owensville, IN. She was raised in Mt. Carmel, IL. She may have married Orvil (not sure of the spelling) around 1928 in or near Mt. Carmel. Mary and Orvil are listed as the parents of Doris Janet Lamb (1928 - 1980) who was born in St. Louis, MO. Orvil listed his occupation as a fireman on Doris's birth certificate. He disappeared shortly after her birth.  We would like to know if, when and where Mary and Orvil married and who his parents were. We also would like to know where George and Sarah are buried. George died June 11, 1939 in Gibson County, IL. Sarah died Feb 12, 1922 in Mt. Carmel, IL.  George and Sarah had 10 children: Alice Florence "Flossie", Elsie May, Dessie Pearl, Manuel Thankfor, William, Kathryn Malissa, Georgia, Lonnie, Mary Viola and John Ross. Although all of these children were born in Gibson County, IN, we believe most of them moved with their parents into Wabash County, IL before 1910.  Any information on these folks would be greatly appreciated.

I am the Grandson of an Elmore & Nancy (Lee) Sanders. They moved to Mt. Carmel from McLeansboro Abt 1888. I believe Elmore was a farmer. They had two boys, Obey & James L. Sanders (my Father), both born in McLeansboro. They had a little girl name Lela May Sanders born March 17, 1888 and died a few lears later. I am trying to find out when Elmore died and where he might be buried. Nancy re-married in 1895 to a Marion Boone Smiley in Epworth, Illinois. That marriage certificate shows Nancy was a widow at the time. I would appreciate any information concerning Elmore Sanders, Nancy (Lee) Sanders Smiley, or any Sanders in that area. I know Elmore had a brother James Russell Sanders, who was living in Mt. Carmel also and was killed on the Big 4 Railroad. Elmore also had a brother named Addison Sanders and a nephew named Joseph Leroy Sanders, who also lived in that city. Thank You
